Jerry Dale King of Kennedale, Texas passed away Friday, July 23, 2021, at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
Born in Pampa, TX to James Elbert and Gladys (Bell) King on July 31, 1940. He was raised on the family farm in Texico, NM, and an avid New Mexico State (NMSU) Aggie with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jerry met his beautiful wife, Golda, while working at Chrysler Aerospace in New Orleans, Louisiana. They were married and relocated to Arlington, Texas where Jerry and Golda raised their family and Jerry established his professional engineering career working for LTV-Vought-Loral-Lockheed Martin in Grand Prairie over the next fifty years. Jerry loved his family dearly and enjoyed his work on A-7 aircraft, DFW Airport Air-Trans, and the ERINT-PAC3 Missiles. Jerry and Golda moved to Kennedale, Texas in 1986, where he retired in 2015.
Jerry wanted his epitaph to be: “When I leave this world for a better place someday, all I’ll get to keep is what I gave away...” - Jerry will keep a lot.
Those left to cherish Jerry’s memory are his wife of 55 years Golda Mitchell King, sons Gayle, Randall, and Michael King of Kennedale, TX; and James (Tudor) and Tori Vaughn King of Scurry, TX. Grandchildren include Angela, Mitchell, Mandi King, and Julia and Allen Baughman; and three great grandchildren--Elijah, Parker and Zane Baughman. His Brothers’ families, the Ronald King family of St. Charles, MO (Sylvia, Charles and Lisa) and the James Eugene (Gene) King family of Albuquerque, NM (Doyce, Denny, Alisha and Tara). His In-Law families, the Gayle Hursey family of Slidell, LA, the Glenda Brent family of DeQuincy, LA, and the Gloria Villaire family (Gloria, Sean, Jennifer, Alison and Evan) of Kennedale, TX.
Jerry is preceded in death by his granddaughter Megan King, brother Ronald King of St. Charles, MO, brother James Eugene (Gene) King of Albuquerque, NM and parents James Elbert and Gladys Bell King of Amarillo, TX.
A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 12:00 pm, in the Skyvue Funeral Chapel, 7220 FM 1187, Mansfield, Texas.
