Kathleen “Katie” England, wife, mother, daughter, Gigi, niece, cousin, aunt, sister-in law, and friend went to eternal rest on November 7, 2023.
Katie was born to Monty Bridges and Carolee Martchenke Bridges on March 16, 1985. Katie grew up in Mansfield, TX on a road surrounded by her cousins. Katie was 11 months older than her best friend and brother, Blake. They were inseparable and shared the strongest of sibling bonds. Katie and Blake had many mischievous adventures and even more laughs. Katie graduated from Waxahachie High School in 2003 where she participated in choir and HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America). Her favorite summers were spent attending an all-girl, faith-based retreat, Camp Loma Linda.
In 2008 Katie married Ernest “Ernie” Roy England. They continued to live in Mansfield and recently purchased a home on that familiar road still enriched with family. Katie’s greatest loves were her daughters, Elizabeth and Ellie, son Hunter and grandson Robbie. Katie enjoyed sharing the joy of her daughters and encouraged each of them in their own hobbies of band, orchestra, art, track, flag football, and cheerleading. Katie was proud of her son, Hunter, now stationed in England as a US Air Force E-4/Senior Airman. Katie showed off pictures of her grandson Robbie to all her friends and family at any chance she had. Together with her family Katie attended church at First Methodist Mansfield.
Katie had a tremendous work ethic. She worked at RF Installations for 15 years where she learned the business and excelled quickly. Soon she was known as the “go to” person and served as the organization’s Operations Manager. Since April 2022 Kaite held multiple roles supporting National Operations and Procurement initiatives for Invitation Homes.
Whether working her raised garden beds or maintaining her many bird feeders, Katie enjoyed anything associated with nature. She loved fishing and making family memories in Lake City, Colorado, and Lake Whitney. The family always looked forward to the jeopardy games Katie organized at Christmas, complete with pictures, music, and family trivia. She was an avid Texas Longhorns and Texas Rangers fan; her grandfathers wouldn’t have it any other way. Katie’s commitment and passion for supporting others was a true gift and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her father, Monty Bridges, her mother, Carolee Bridges, her husband, Ernie England, her daughters, Elizabeth and Ellie, her son Hunter, her grandson Robbie England, and Grandmother Carolyn Martchenke. She will be dearly missed by all her family as their bonds of love are immeasurable.
Katie was preceded in death by her brother Blake Bridges, Father-in-law Robert England, Grandparents Helen and Jim Bridges, Grandfather Patrick Martchenke, and Uncle Steve Martchenke.
