Judy Marie LaFave Smith

Judy Marie LaFave Smith, beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 77. Born on September 18, 1947, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Luchean B. and Eula M. LaFave, Judy lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to her family.

After graduating from Holdenville High School in 1966, Judy married the love of her life, David S. Smith, on February 8, 1978. Together, they shared 47 wonderful years of marriage. Judy’s career included roles in banking, healthcare, and manufacturing, and she was admired for her dedication, strong work ethic, and caring spirit.

In 1986, Judy retired to focus on her home, where she created a warm and welcoming place filled with joy and love. She enjoyed reading, dancing, and interior design and was cherished by all who knew her.

Judy is survived by her husband David, sister Mary LaFave Yarbrough, nephew Shanon Dodson, sister-in-law Suzanne Streater Harris, nephews Rick Streater and Heath Streater, as well as Brandon McElroy, David Gil Maffei, Parker McElroy, Stetson McElroy, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
