Joy E. Thompson

Joy Elaine Turner Thompson was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in Burleson, Texas at the age of 63. Joy was born May 1, 1961, in Lubbock, Texas to Jackson Elias Turner and Mary Elizabeth Turner Howell.  She lived in Mansfield, Texas before moving to Alvarado, Texas.

Joy earned her associate's degree and pursued a career in customer service eventually retiring as a Customer Service Manager.  She was a member of Bisbee Baptist Church. Joy enjoyed travelling and crafting when she could.

Joy is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Jack Turner; brother-in-law, Hebe Race; brother-in-law, Joe Shockley.

She is survived by her daughter, Brittany Keown and her husband Josh; son, Tim Thompson and his wife Melayna; sisters, Shirley Race and Lenora Shockley; brother, Michael Turner and his wife Cora; grandchildren, Carson Keown, Xander Horton, Anna Sophia Keown, Jax Horton, Madalyn Thompson and Dallas Keown; nieces, Jennifer Race and Allyson Fitzgerald; nephews, Tejae Race and Shane Turner; other family includes, Jaxon Race, Axell Race, Lilly Cochran along with numerous other loving family and friends.
