Joseph Earl Luckey II, born on October 20, 1956, in Chillicothe, Texas, passed away on June 18, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was 69 years old and leaves behind a distinguished legacy that will long be cherished by his family, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mr. Luckey’s life was marked by a deep commitment to service, both to his country and to those around him. He served with honor and distinction, dedicating 23 years to the United States Marine Corps and subsequently to the United States Army. His devotion to duty and discipline defined not only his career but also the principles by which he lived. Through his decades of service, Joseph earned the respect and gratitude of his nation, leaving an indelible mark on those he served alongside.
Joseph’s personal life was enriched by the love and companionship of his family, who survive him and who will treasure his memory always. He is survived by his daughter, Laquisha Luckey, and his sons, DeShown Luckey and wife Sophia and Devante Luckey and wife Ruby. His legacy continues through his grandchildren—MaShaun Luckey, DeShown Luckey Jr., Sanaa Luckey, Demond Luckey, Reagan Luckey, Julian Luckey, Mackenzie Luckey, Cali Luckey, and Josiah Luckey—as well as his great-grandchild, Myles Luckey.
He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Luckey I, and his mother, Bettye Lou Roy.
Joseph’s enduring impact on his family and his unwavering sense of duty to his country serve as an inspiration to all. He will be remembered for his steadfast integrity, his kindness, and his devotion to those he loved and served.
