John Marshall Johnson

John Marshall Johnson, III, was born in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas on December 20, 1954 to John Marshall Johnson, Jr. and Charlie Mae Braley Johnson. He passed away on June 26, 2021 at home in Burleson, Tarrant County, Texas. He went to North Mesquite High School and Arkansas Tech University, Russellville, Arkansas. He played football at both schools. While at Tech he met his future wife, Frances Lynn Fant Johnson. They married on September 27, 1975 and moved to Arlington, Tarrant County, Texas. After a few years, they moved to Burleson (Rendon), Tarrant County, Texas, and lived there ever since. They attended Retta Baptist Church, Burleson, Texas.

Johnny was an avid gun collector, foodie, gardener, football fan (especially, the UT Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys). He also loved to make people laugh.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, John Marshall Johnson, Jr. and Charlie Mae Braley Johnson, Paul Johnson (Uncle), Francis Braley (Aunt), Grady Braley (Uncle), Winnie Braley Waldrop (Aunt), Evelyn Braley Gardner (Aunt), Nancy Brother Johnson (Sister-in-law), Sharon Johnson (Sister-in-law), Jasper Blair Fant, Sr. (Father-in-law), Helen McElduff Fant (Mother-in-law), Sharon Fant Peterson (Sister-in-law), Carol Fant Peterson (Sister-in-law), Jasper Blair Fant, Jr. (Brother-in-law), and Paul Peterson (Nephew).

Johnny had two sisters: Virginia Mae Johnson McLaren and Debra Susan Johnson Pevey (Larry Pevey); two brothers: Jimmy Dwayne Johnson and David Mark Johnson; one daughter: Traci Lynn Johnson Francisco; and one grandson: Jacob Wyatt Francisco.

He had two uncles: Tom Johnson and Larry Gardner; two aunts: Mary Braley Bruce (Mike) and Margaret (Jewel) Braley Treat.

Johnny had four nieces: Natalie Johnson, Krystal Johnson, Amber Johnson, Terra Miralles, Nicole Earnhart, and Liz; and nine nephews: Chris Bryant (Melissa), Brandon Bryant (Sabrina), Larry Pevey, Jr., Kevin Peterson (Lisa), Aaron Peterson, Shane Peterson (Terri), Jon Fant, Jasper Fant (Danita), many cousins, great nephews and nieces, and friends.

Johnny's best friend for over 50 years was Robert Vercher (Beth). Robert 's family treated Johnny as one of their own and included Earl and Nat Vercher (parents) and Liz Vercher Weaver (Chris) (sister), plus, extended family.

He loved and was loved by many.
