Johnnie Lee Castleberry

Johnnie Lee Castleberry went to be with her Lord and Savior April 2, 2024. at the age of 91.

On a beautiful March 16, 1933, day, Johnnie Lee was born to Levi Adams and Cornelious Grant Adams in Carthage Texas.

Johnnie met her one and forever love, Robert Earl Castleberry, early in life and they wed in east Texas in 1948. They spent the next 62 years loving and supporting one another.

After high school, Johnnie obtained a cosmetology license and enjoyed doing hair, as well as receiving her license to become a Texas nurse aid to help those in their time of need. 

In her younger days she enjoyed sewing and making her children clothing. She had a sweet spot for flowers and enjoyed all colors and all kinds. Johnnie was the best at giving spiritual advice and guidance. She would say, "It's your life, but here are some words of wisdom."

Johnnie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Castleberry; her parents, Levi and Cornelius (Dollie) Adams; as well as eleven siblings.

Johnnie is survived by her daughter, Brenda "Candy" Willis and husband Byron "Chico" Willis; son, Howard Earl Castleberry; sister, Daisy Louise Jernigan; grandchildren, Jonathan Scott, Latasha Castleberry, Ericka Castleberry, Chloe Willis, Courtney Willis; great-grandchildren, De'Aunte Castleberry, Cameron Moody, Armani Gonzalez, Shamayda Howard III, Tyvon Coleman; nieces, Joyce Evans, Alice Johnson, Lavenda Adams, Leslie Johnson, Barbara Ann Brown; nephew, Johnny Adams; as well as a host of other nieces and nephews; special family and friends, Timonica Robertson, Meara M Willis, Sis Fannie Lee, Sis Robin Anderson, Joanne Macklin and Rosa Murray.
