Joan Parham, beloved mother and Maw passed away peacefully on May 26, 2023 at her home in Godley, Texas.

Celebration of Life: 12:00 PM Friday, June 16, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Godley.

Joan was born July 19, 1943 in Oakland, California to Mary and Levi Hodges Junior. She was the second of three children.

Joan grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma where she graduated high school from Shawnee high school in 1961. After high school Joan attended dental school where she got her degree and became a dental assistant. During this time, she met and fell in love with the love of her life, Raymond Parham. They were married on May 6, 1962 in Oklahoma City .


Joan and Raymond had three children Robert (Bobby) , Bryan and Ramona. After leaving Oklahoma, they lived in Corpus Christi for a few years before moving to Arlington Texas. They raised their children and lived in Arlington many years before moving to Granbury and then Godley, Texas. Raymond and Joan were married 46 years until his passing in 2008.


Joan enjoyed teaching and working with special needs children at Godley ISD and also spent time at Cleburne ISD where she worked as a teachers aid until her retirement. Joan was a member of first Baptist Church of Godley where she attended until her health wouldn’t allow her.


Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Mary Hodges, brother Jimmy, her loving husband, Raymond Parham and her son Robert Parham.


She is survived by her children, Bryan Parham and wife Nora, daughter Ramona Adame, and husband Adrian, grandson, Chase and wife Loryn and granddaughters, Rachel and Alyssa and sister Judy White.
Joan is reunited with Raymond and in the arms of our Lord and Savior.
She will be truly missed , but it’s not goodbye, it’s see ya again.
