Jerry Wayne Seyler, a dedicated family man, Navy veteran, and retired telecommunications professional, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, in Crowley, Texas. Born on March 4, 1946, in Waco, Texas, Jerry’s life was marked by his strong values, his commitment to faith, and an enduring dedication to those he loved.

Jerry’s early years were shaped in Waco, where he laid the foundation for a life of service and purpose. From 1965 to 1969, he honorably served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, embodying courage and patriotism. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career at Northrup Grumman, specializing in telecommunications until his retirement.

A man of faith, Jerry was a valued member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Waco and later Trinity Lutheran Church in Weatherford, Texas. His spirituality guided him throughout his life, providing a source of strength and solace.

Jerry's proudest personal milestone was his marriage to Dianne Morton on June 12, 1970, in Waco, Texas. Their union was a central pillar in his life, and together they navigated decades filled with love and memorable moments. Sadly, Dianne preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents, James and Ida Seyler, and his niece, Paula Smith.

Jerry’s zest for life was evident in his many interests. He found joy spending precious time with his family, watching quality films, collecting Texas memorabilia that celebrated his love for his home state, traveling to new places, and engaging enthusiastically in sports. These passions brought richness and balance to his journey.

His surviving family stands as a testament to the legacy he leaves behind. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Mitzi Seyler and Kendra Hewson; his sons, Randy Seyler and Markie Seyler; his sister, Barbara Smith; and nephews, Jim Smith and Mike Smith. His profound love extended to a devoted circle of grandchildren: Keeley and Nick Letz, Kristi and John Mitchell, Courtney Seyler, Brittany and Andres Marroguin, Gabrielle Hewson, Makayla Hewson, Hannah Seyler, Garrett Seyler, and Casey Seyler, along with a multitude of great-grandchildren who brightened his later years.

Special acknowledgments are extended to the compassionate staff at Crowley Nursing and Rehabilitation, whose excellent care supported Jerry in his final days, reflecting the respect and dignity that defined his life.
