Jeff Weldon Hunter

January 30, 1944 — December 2, 2025

On December 2, 2025, after a short illness, Jeff peacefully transitioned from this life to eternal rest.

Jeff W. Hunter was born on January 30, 1944, in Frankston, Texas, the second of four sons born to the late Johnnie H. Hunter and Mary J. (Warren) Hunter. The family later moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where Jeff professed his faith in Christ and joined Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Jeff was a proud graduate of the historic I.M. Terrell High School and later attended Prairie View College. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. After completing his military service, Jeff began a long and dedicated career as a machinist in the aerospace industry. He was employed at General Dynamics and later retired after many years of faithful service with one of Fort Worth’s leading aviation companies.

Affectionately known to family and friends as “Bubba,” Jeff truly lived up to the name. His humor was legendary, his timing unmatched. Jeff loved the outdoors—fishing and hunting were his passions. He went fishing as recently as November.

Jeff was preceded in death by his wife, Len Etter; his son, Leonard (LB); his parents, Johnnie H. and Mary J. (Warren) Hunter; and his brothers, Johnny (aka Warren) Hunter and Renaud Hunter.

Jeff leaves behind a host of loving family members and friends to cherish his memory and continue carrying on his legacy.
