Jeanette Graham, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, in Mansfield, Texas. Born on July 31, 1940, in Cookville, Texas, Jeanette’s life was a testament to hard work, creativity, unwavering love, and deep devotion to family.
From her early days in Cookville, Jeanette possessed a lively, giving spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family, forming the bonds that would sustain her throughout her remarkable journey.
Those who knew Jeanette saw her dedication firsthand—whether as co-owner of C2 Western Wear in Arlington or later as the Fabric Department Manager at Walmart in Mansfield, colleagues and customers alike were drawn to her kindness and her gentle wisdom. Her determination and care left an imprint on everyone she worked with, and the warmth she brought to her professional life extended effortlessly to her community.
Jeanette’s creative passion found its fullest expression in quilting. As a devoted member of the Stitches Quilting Group in Mansfield, she fostered friendships and lovingly created gifts that became treasures for generations. Through each stitch, her love radiated into the lives of friends and family.
Her personal life was marked by profound attachment and devotion. Jeanette was blessed with a loving husband. She is survived by Marion 'Jake' Monroe Graham, whom she married on June 17, 1996, in Mansfield, Texas. Their years together were filled with companionship, care, and shared adventures.
Family always remained at the center of Jeanette’s heart. Her pride in her children and grandchildren knew no bounds. She leaves behind her beloved sons, Leon Childs, and his wife Gnia Childs and Neal Childs, as well as Jakes sons, Larry Graham and Donny Graham. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Colton Childs and his wife Meaghann, Quenten Childs and his wife Shania, Jennifer Childs and her husband Hunter, and Jaimie Rhett and her husband Ross. Jeanette cherished her great-grandchild, Ryder, and held her siblings Jacky and Darrell, and sisters Dorothy, Kim, Cynthia, Nelda, and Beverly close to her heart.
Though Jeanette endured the sorrow of parting with her daughter, Melva Renee Childs, and her deeply loved mother, Mildred, and father, Johnny, along with brothers Bill, Mike, Roger, Johnny, Ronnie, Tim, and sisters Gayle, Melanie, and Libby, and her first husband MG Childs, her resilient spirit and affection never faltered. She honored those gone before her by living life with grace, gratitude, and generosity.
Jeanette was the thread that wove her family together—a steadfast presence in times of celebration and difficulty alike. Her laughter, advice, and compassion were dependable comforts, always offered with an open hand and an open heart. The echoes of her love will resonate through her family and friends for years to come.
