Janis Gale Lester, born on November 12, 1962, in Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on January 23, 2026, in her hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. She was a cherished member of her family and a beloved friend to many, known for her warm spirit and adventurous nature.
Janis spent a period of her life in Rockport, Texas, where she embraced the community and formed lasting connections. She was fond of playing Bingo and enjoyed regular outings to the casino, where she relished in both the thrill of the games and the joy of camaraderie with friends and fellow players.
Janis is survived by her brothers, Fred D. Lester and his wife Sharlette, and Mark Lester; her brother-in-law, Ernie Frisby; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Shanda Lykins, Alexandrea Delaney, Marla Lester, Joey Lester, Jonathen Holmes, and Jared Lester. She also leaves behind great nieces and nephews, Morgen Lester, Sicily Delaney, Tristan Delaney, Bella Delaney, Jack Claborn, Natalie Lester, Charlotte Lester, and Elizabeth Lester, as well as Shawn and Resa Hendrix.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Lester and Jewel Tye; her sister, Pam Frisby; her nephew, Shane Lester; and her boyfriend, Robert Hendrix. Janis's legacy is one of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
