Linda Kay James, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022.
She was born on December 28, 1959 in Flint, Michigan to Dorothy Hart Herron and Gordon Herron.
Once she graduated high school, she moved to Texas and she never looked back. Linda was always a hard worker and once she started her family, that increased her drive even more to be a strong provider. She worked at the Huntsville College in the cafeteria for many years before she went on to work at the 711 convenient store on Randol Mill in Arlington, Texas. When her children were younger, Linda would spend lots of time outdoors with them. One thing she loved to do was go on camping trips or visit the park where they could barbeque. Her and her family created many lasting memories together during these trips.
One thing Linda was known for was holidays. Whether it was Christmas, Halloween or Thanksgiving, the house was decorated top to bottom. She always swore she could make an amazing interior designer, and it was true. She had an eye for detail and every corner of her house, and yours if you’d allow her, would be decorated. Aside from the decorations, Linda also loved the fellowship that came with holidays. She loved to cook, host and party with her family.
In her free time, Linda enjoyed working on sewing projects, cooking and shopping. She could go on a shopping spree like there was no tomorrow. She also had a great love for animals and she was recently looking forward to getting a hamster. She had a tough exterior, but beneath it all she was a very generous woman with a big heart. She was always praying for those that she loved and she would do anything for those closest to her, especially her family.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Herron and Dorothy Herron; sister, Lisa Ann Freeland (Herron); husband of 25 years, L.B. James; father of her children, Joe Wilkerson.
