James B. Lattimore, 90, of Forest Hill, Texas transitioned to his Heavenly home on June 16, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas.
James Brown Lattimore was born on March 10, 1935, in Gilmer, Texas, to the late Leon and Sadie Lattimore. He had four siblings, three sisters—Earlene, Burlee, and Dollie Mae—and one brother, Wilbur. He attended Valley View School in Gilmer, Texas.
James met and married Mattie Jewel Foster. From their union came four children: three daughters, Nettie Jo, Maxine LaVonne, and Lisa Kay, and one son, Edgar Scott.
James was a faithful member and Deacon at Bible Way Baptist Church in Lake Como, Texas, under the leadership of Rev. J. T. Kennard. He later joined and served at Berea Baptist Church in Forest Hill, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor Quincy L. Randall, until his health prevented him from continuing his service.
James was a hard worker, always looking for ways to care for his family. His favorite phrase was, “Say a word of prayer for everybody and keep moving.” He was always upbeat and positive, and he will be forever loved.
James was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, beloved wife Mattie, daughter Maxine, and grandson Richard.
