Jacquet Lovell Jones was born on September 17, 1965, to the late Mr. Leroy Brooks and Ms. Luella Canton Jones in San Augustine Texas. He passed away at UT Southwest Hospital in Dallas, Texas on August 17, 2023.

He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He joined Harvey Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Robert L. Rogers. He later joined the Ramp Church of Texas under leader and overseer Evan D. Risher. Jacquet attended the Fort Worth ISD for most of his schooling, he then later completed his education and received his certification in heavy equipment as a machine operator. He worked for the city of Fort Worth and then later went on to work for KWS Manufacturing in Joshua, Texas for many years until he had to retire due to medical reasons. Jacquet met his loving wife over 40 years ago, Mrs. Vandra Evette Holman Jones, when they were just in the 6th grade. They became good friends and later began to build a life together.

Mr. Jacquet Lovell Jones is preceded in death by his parents; Mr. Leroy Brooks Sr. and Ms. Luella Canton Jones; his mother, N. Luv, Ms. Bobbie H. Skelton; son, Ja’Marquis L. Jones; 3 sisters, Lina L. Jones, Audriet, and Dorothy Brooks; 3 brothers, Samuel S., Leonard R., Kenneth E. Jones; 2 brothers in laws, Donald Skelton Jr., William Garrett.

Jacquet’s legacy will be carried on through his daughter, Teneshia Bridgewater (Eddie Ray); 3 sons, Jeremiah, Je’Caryoun and Robbiun Jones. He raised 5 nieces he considered his daughters, Carnishia Brown, Deeandrea, Darricka Skelton, Taylor Hick and Joshlan Ahart. As well as 2 nephews who were more like sons, Wynton Simpson, Derrick Skelton II. He was blessed with 1 bonus daughter, Katrina Henderson, 1 bonus son, Michael Boyd (Ashley). Those to cherish his memory as well are 16 loving sisters, Lila F. Anthony (Johnny) of San Augustine, Tx, Mozell Johnson (Winfred) of Longview, Tx, Anne Marie Tamplin, Lila B. Smith, Kimberlea B. Woods, Claudine Sales (Vincent), Janie Brooks, Yolanda Ish (Morris), Veronica Wesley (Harry), Monica Brooks, Lashanda Brooks, Sharon P. Davis (Daniel), Pamela Johnson, Laura Lane, Chassidy Young, Debra Battles and Marquisha Hall all residing in Fort Worth, Tx. 11 brothers, Hubert Jones Sr., Milton Polly, James Wright, Leroy Brooks Jr., John Brooks, Jerry Matlock Sr., Arthur Lane all residing in Fort Worth, Texas, Elroy Brooks of Longview, Texas, Joe Moore, James Matlock both of San Augustine Tx, Darius Alford, New York, Ny. Jacquet also leaves behind a very special place in the hearts of 5 sister in laws, Carolyn Holman of Fort Worth, Tx, Deborah Davis, Shonica Garrett both of Dallas, Tx, Jessica Garrett, Deidra Roberts Horton (Van) both of Nacogdoches, Tx. 7 brothers in laws, Willie Holman (Lashadra), William Holman, Derrick D. Skelton (Brandy), Darrell Hubbard all residing in Fort Worth, Texas, Lawrence Lane, Steven Holman, Christopher Holman of from San Augustine, Tx. 2 forever grateful brothers, James Clay Jr. of San Augustine Tx, Calvin Clay (Minnie) of Houston, Texas; 1 forever grateful sister, Dorothy Watts of San Augustine, Tx; 3 bonus brothers, Quincy Bratchett (Deborah) of Dallas, Tx, Billy Cleveland (Benita), Marcus Bennett (Sharon) all residing in Fort Worth, Tx.

He was so very blessed to be called daddy and pawpaw by 10 very special grandchildren, one of whom he was blessed to have helped raise until the Lord called Jacquet home, Isaiah L. Taylor Jr. (Man Man). A beautiful host of very loving and cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He lovingly called Ms. Willie Henderson and Patricia Jones Howard “sister” for over 30 years. As well as Minnie Thomas, Benita Henderson, Towanna Roberson, Tracie Green, Olivia Brookins and Patricia Jones Howard.

To Mr. Benny J. Wilson (Rose Mary) you have been a father, brother, mother, and sister figure for many years. You two have been a shelter on a stormy day and every visit was a blessing because of you both. We are forever grateful.
