Ineko Suzuki Spates, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, at home. Ineko was born to Masugoro and Waka Yoshiyama Suzuki on February 1, 1928, in Chiba, Japan.
She is survived by her children: Joseph & Elizabeth Spates, Howard Spates, Robert Spates, Susan & Michael Polson and Maria & Bruce Bennett; 23 grandchildren: Michelle & Eric Gray, Eric & Jennifer Spates, Nicole & Doug Forward, John-Michael & Krystle Spates, Chris & Lisa Spates, Cole Wales, Tyler & Bonnie Spates, Kaylee & Thomas Cancino, Max & Savannah Spates, Amanda & Jonathan Capps, Crystal Antell, Garren Polson, Brodrick Bennett and Cassidy Bennett;
22 great-grandchildren; Brandon, Jade, Trinity, Braedon, Mikayla, Kenzley, Jemma, Ava, Jacob, Eli, Levi, Kamden, Jaxon, Kaia, Cooper, Callum, Carter, Remington, Hayden, Rilee, Liam, Easton and 1 Great-Great Grandson Tate Wood, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John C. Spates, father & mother Masugoro and Waka Yoshiyama Suzuki, her sister Taeko Suzuki, and brothers Akie Suzuki and Harue Suzuki, Grandson T.J. Antell, Great granddaughter Layla Spates.
Visitation will be from 7:30 am to 9:00 am with a Service beginning at 9:00am Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home, 4631 Hondo Pass, El Paso, Tx 79904,
915-755-4494. Interment to follow at 10:00am at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
