Hortencia Torres Vargas went to be with her Lord April 17, 2026. She was born July 27, 1959, in Mexico to parents Sixtos Vargas and Ma Cirila Barcenas.
Hortencia worked for Poly America and attended St. Jude's Catholic Church. She enjoyed being outside tending to her garden and always had a gift to give family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Sixtos Vargas and brother Saul Vargas. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Janet and husband Jose Muraira, Ruth Torres; mother, Ma Cirila Barcenas; sisters, Mari Cruz, Celia, Reina, Dalia; brothers, Jose Luis, Jose, Sixto, Jamie, Roberto, Alfredo, Rogelio.
Hortencia Torres will be remembered as a woman whose life was defined by love, strength, and unwavering generosity. As the eldest of thirteen children, she naturally stepped into the role of a guiding light and mother figure to her siblings, offering care and support from a young age.
Hortencia's life was a testament to endurance and perseverance. Through every challenge, she carried herself with strength and a giving spirit that touched everyone around her.
Hortencia was a devoted and attentive mother to her daughters, Janet and Ruth- her greatest accomplishments and the pride of her life. She made it a point to stay connected, always wanting to hear from them, to know how they were doing, and to be part of their everyday lives. In every conversation and every gesture, she expressed her love in the best way she knew how.
She found joy in life's simple beauties, especially in flowers and tending to her garden.
Hortencia was known for her selflessness. She gave freely and fully, often putting others before herself. Her home was always open, a place of comfort, warmth, and welcome for anyone in need.
Her legacy is one of love, sacrifice, and kindness. She leaves behind family and friends who have been shaped by her generosity and her unwaering presence in their lives.
Hortencia Torres will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Hortencia Torres será recordada como una mujer cuya vida estuvo definida por el amor, la fortaleza y una generosidad inquebrantable. Como la mayor de trece hermanos, asumió de manera natural el papel de guía y figura materna para sus hermanos, brindando cuidada y apoyo desde una edad temprana.
