Burleson, Texas – Kathy Lynn Henderson was born January 20th 1965, in Huntsville Alabama, daughter of Thomas Preston McElvoy and Margaret MacMillen (Peggy ) McElvoy.
Kathy Lynn moved from Michigan to Mansfield, Texas with her family in 1980. Kathy graduated Mansfield High School in 1983 and went on to All Saints School of Nursing where she pursued her life’s passion in nursing, graduating in 1985. Kathy married the love of her life in 1996 Ronald Henderson. Ronald and Kathy enjoyed many activities together including bowling and hosting game nights. Kathy started her nursing career at Mansfield nursing home and spent her career caring for others with her many years in the home health field. She made many lifelong friends during her career with patients and coworkers. Kathy’s biggest accomplishment was being a mom. Kathy and Ron became proud parents to Joshua Scott and Meghan Lynn. Kathy volunteered for any activity that involved her children. Brownie Leader, cheerleader booster vice-president and swim team mom just to name a few. She was a ten-year breast cancer survivor, avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved her fur babies.
Kathy leaves us all with memories of her kindness to anyone she met and her beautiful smile. Family and friends will never forget her; she made an impression to all and will forever be our angel.
Kathy is survived by husband Ronald Henderson; son Joshua Scott; daughter Meghan Lynn; father Thomas Preston McElvoy and mother Margaret (Peggy) McElvoy; sister Judi McElvoy Campbell (Mark) ;brother Jerry McElvoy (Lisa); and sister Nancy McElvoy Russell ( Jeffrey ), sister in law Alisa Granger and brother in law Bryan ( Lindsay ) Henderson; along with many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Services will be held at Skyvue in Mansfield Wednesday January 27th at 2:00.
