Helen Louise Henderson, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, departed this life on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the age of 75.
She was born on January 20, 1951, in Waco, Texas, to Willie Roy Harris and Gennetter Harris. Helen was full of life, always laughing, and she loved singing with her siblings, The Harris Singers Gospel Group. She had a powerful alto voice, and one of the Lord’s shining stars, being a member of Leslie Ct. Baptist Church for over 25 years, under her father, the late Reverand W.R. Harris. She said “I’m going to tell everybody about God”.
She attended school in Waco, and Fort Worth, and went on to work at John Peter Smith Hospital for many years, also becoming a beautician as well. She later met Isaac Henderson, they married in Fort Worth, and they had a wonderful life together before he preceded her in death. Her favorite food was chicken and everyone knew it too. She would say “did you bring me some chicken” every time someone visited her. Helen will be truly missed, she was such a happy person, always laughing with a big presence and voice. As a reminder to her two sons, siblings, family, and friends...
It is not goodbye but see you in the morning.
Those to greet Helen in Heaven are her late husband, Isaac Henderson; her parents, Rev. W.R. and Gennetter Harris; her brothers, Odell Harris and Rev. Ivory Lee Harris, and her sister, Missionary Willie Mae Williams.
Those left to cherish Helen’s memory are her two sons, Donald Ray Williams, Sr. and Sammy Lee, Jr.; her sisters, Brenda Gardner, Sarah Cooper (Elie), Linda Thomas (Wydell), Georgia Wilkerson (Harry), Elizabeth Sparks, and her brother, Johnny George Harris; her grandson, Donald Ray Williams, Jr., and her great-granddaughter, 10 nieces, 12 nephews, and a host of loving family members and friends.
