Gwynn Wood Williams

Gwynn Wood Williams, 77, returned home to her Heavenly Father on Thursday October 15, 2026. She was surrounded by family and loved ones during her final days and moments. It was peaceful and filled with love.

Gwynn Wood Williams was born in Dallas, TX on July 18, 1949. Her name was chosen for her by her maternal grandmother. Through her life she lived in many places including Okinawa and Florida. Most of her years were spent in Arlington, TX before her final residence in Burleson, TX.

Gwynn grew up in a home with many siblings and even spent time overseas in Okinawa in the 50’s. She loved to spend time outside, and was especially fond of swimming in the ocean. This trait stuck with her for all of her days.

She met her best friend, Jimmeye, when her family returned to the United States. They referred to their memories as “Thelma & Louise” and had quite the stories to tell. They were loyal to one another through and through- a very special bond.

Gwynn graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1967 and went on to work for the United States Postal Service from whom she retired after many years of service. One of her childhood dreams was to have a home- a house with Children. She had 3 children to whom she has many memories. She shared how much she loved being a mom and how they meant everything to her. She l

Gwynn, also know as Gaga to her grandkids, had a love for cooking, animals, and her family. There are fond memories of her in the kitchen making “Grandma’s cheesecake”, oatmeal raisin cookies, or her Santa Claus cookies. She loved making memories with her grandkids throughout the years.

She had many animals that captured her heart through her years, but she kept these 3 closest to- Missy, Maks, and Bella.

Her loved ones would describe her as a loving, independent, with a little bit of “spunk” woman. She was a tough cookie and worked hard for what she had. She will be remembered for her giving heart and love for the beach. She had a heart for the Lord and sowed many seeds for her family. She held fast to the Lord. Her faith was important to her and she was re-baptized this past January.

Prior to her passing, she said she was happiest seeing her children succeed in life and her grandkids growing into good, honest people. She felt she was very blessed to have had such a wonderful family and was so proud of them.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Deborah and Shay Wood.

She is survived by her daughter(s), Tammy Stephenson and husband Robbie, Carole Williams; son,Tommy Williams Jr. and wife Kelli; grandchildren, Tarrin and husband Mike, Cory and wife Taylor, Payton, Cortlyn and husband Will, Chase, Chance, Allyson and Tommy III; great-grandchildren, Zane, Izaac, Noah, Levi, Blakelyn, Casey, and Jack.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating blood to Carter Blood Bank. Gwynn had donated over 10 gallons to help so many others in need. She was particularly proud that her blood was able to help babies.

A private graveside memorial will be held for the family and close friends at Pleasant Point Cemetery in Alvarado.

She will forever be held in the hearts of those close to her and especially those who were lucky enough to call her mom, a friend, or Gaga.
