George Ray Carson, born on October 29, 1940, in Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home, on August 23, 2025, in Hurst, Texas. He lived a life filled with dedication, love, and a fun-loving spirit that made a lasting impact on all who knew him.

A proud graduate of Riverside High School, where he played basketball and began his military experience, in ROTC. George embodied a strong work ethic throughout his diverse career as a milkman and later as a computerized Lathe Operator, at esteemed companies such as General Dynamics, Texas Instruments, and Otis Engineering. His commitment to excellence in every endeavor exemplified his character and garnered him the respect of his peers.

George honorably served in the United States Navy. His faith in Christ Jesus was a priority, as over the years he attended Oakview Baptist Church, Metroplex Chapel, and First Baptist Church Hurst. Assisting his wife and daughter teaching in the 4- and 5-year-old Sunday School class, at Metroplex Chapel.

On June 24, 1960, George married his beloved wife, Mary Louise Anderson, at Oakview Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Their union was a testament to enduring love, filled with shared dreams and cherished memories. Although Mary Louise has since passed, George’s love for her continued to resonate endlessly in his heart.

George is survived by his son, Johnny Ray Carson and wife Rosemary Ann (née LeGros) Carson; daughter, Julie Ann Carson; George's brother, Charles Carson and wife Jeanette; along with his adored grandchildren, Nichole Terry and husband David, Phillip LeGros, Bobbie Wallace and husband Daniel, and Mellissa LeGros. The legacy of love continues with his great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Russell, Ariyana Jenkins, Audrey and Braydon LeGros, Leo Evans, Johnny Wallace, Alaynah, Addison and Abigail Davis, Malaki Terry, and Lucas McCoy, and great-great-grand daughter Reese Sage, along with many beloved cousins, nephews and nieces. Each one carries a piece of his vibrant spirit and an abundance of fond memories.

As an avid NFL football fan, George especially cheered for the Dallas Cowboys, and in his free time, he enjoyed engaging games of chess and billiards – hobbies that further defined his inquisitive and spirited nature. George loved to study chess and shared his love of the game with his family, including his children and grandchildren. George enjoyed “playing” tennis with his grandchildren in the driveway and sharing in their interest in movies and videogames. He enjoyed listening and singing along with music of all kinds. George was a gentle, kind, encouraging teacher of practical life lessons.

George will be remembered not only for his steadfast devotion to his family and community but also for his gentle, warm-hearted demeanor, his kind helpfulness and sense of humor that brightened the lives of those fortunate enough to have known him.

A memorial service to honor George's remarkable life will take place on September 19, 2025, at

10:00 AM, at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield, Texas, followed by his internment at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, at 1:15 PM.

Though he has departed from this world, the love and joy that George Ray Carson brought into the lives of his family and friends will forever remain in their hearts. His legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will continue to inspire and guide those who carry his memory forward.
