Gary Jackson

Gary Isaac Jackson, 82, of Lebanon, Mo. passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026. He was born on May 8, 1944, in Lebanon, Mo. where he ultimately made his home with his wife Patty Jackson for more than 35 years. Gary graduated high school at Lebanon High in 1962. He then graduated from Southwest Missouri State College in 1966. Gary lived a full and meaningful life devoted to people and the things he loved. He worked for Sears for more than 30 years, giving his time, dedication and hard work to his career and was a great provider for his family, which he took great pride in. Throughout the years, life took Gary and his family to many different places, but Lebanon Missouri, always held a special place in his heart.

Above all else, Gary loved his family. He loved his wife dearly, and together they enjoyed building a life filled with memories. One of their special joys was caring for and enjoying their beautiful yard and horses. They took pride in making their home and surroundings beautiful and enjoyed sitting at the barn watching their horses and admiring their rolling hills, trees, and freshly cut grass.

Gary was especially proud of his four loving daughters. They brought him tremendous joy and cherished calling them almost daily. His family was his greatest treasure, and the love he had for his daughters will remain a lasting part of their lives. 

Gary also had a love for the old westerns, especially John Wayne, and his family will always remember the things that made him unique, his stories of his close friends and countless stories of Sears. He also was especially fond of his mom’s homemade biscuits and gravy. We ALL were! Gary was a devoted son who lovingly cared for his mother and was by her side, making sure she was well cared for until the end of her life.

Gary is survived by his four beloved daughters, Dana Mize, Dianna Mouton, Genelle Brown, Kelly Bassham; Patty's children, Cindy Meyer, Scott Meyer, Stacey Bowman, as well as 12 grandchildren, his brother Ivan Jackson, and his sister Marilyn Schmidt along with his extended family and many friends who loved him. Gary leaves behind more than memories. He leaves behind a lifetime of love, lessons, laughter and stories that his family will carry forever.

Though Gary is no longer with us, his love will never leave us. He will live on in the hearts of his family, in the memories he made on his beloved land, in the stories of his years at Sears, and in the countless stories that will continue to be told for generations to come. Rest peacefully. You were loved more than words can ever say, and you will be missed. We will await the day when you will ‘RISE AND SHINE’.
