Gail Ryerson, a beloved Head Start Teacher and substitute teacher whose dedication touched the lives of countless children, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on September 10, 1964, in Cuba, New York, Gail was a radiant soul whose warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
A graduate of the University of Phoenix, Gail devoted her career to nurturing young minds, tirelessly working to create a foundation of learning and love for children at the very start of their educational journeys. Her passion for teaching was only matched by her deep commitment to her family and community.
Gail found joy and fulfilment not only in her professional life but also in her many hobbies and interests. She attended Life Church and Walnut Family Church of God, where her spirit of faith and fellowship was a beacon of hope and kindness. Gail loved camping under the open skies, swimming in the embrace of nature’s waters, and crafting beauty with her hands through crocheting and sewing. She also delighted in constructing and fixing things around her home, a testament to her resourceful and creative nature. Most of all, Gail treasured the time spent with her family, cherishing every moment shared with those she loved.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Heidi Ryerson; her sister, Amy Burr; and her brothers, Edwin and Nancy Luce, and Mark and Annette Luce. Her legacy of love and warmth lives on in her grandchildren, Nyla Ryerson, Corra Ryerson, Ryker McLemee, and Rylan McLemee, who continue to inspire joy and laughter in the family.
Gail also leaves behind a legacy carried forward from those who have passed before her: Arthur Ryerson, Time Ryerson, Misti Ryerson, Eleanor Farr, Greg Luce, Rick Luce, Edwin Baxter, and Lyle Luce. Their memories live on through stories told and hearts touched, woven deeply into the fabric of Gail’s life and the lives of all who knew her.
In the quiet moments, when one pauses to reflect, it is clear that Gail Ryerson’s spirit will forever remain a comforting presence. Her dedication as a teacher, her devotion to her family, and her zest for life were gifts she gave without reservation. Although she has left this earthly plane, the echoes of her laughter, the lessons she imparted, and the love she shared will never fade. Gail’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with compassion, faith, and an unwavering drive to make the world a better place.
She will be dearly missed, forever remembered, and eternally cherished.
In lieu of flowers please consider asking how to make donations to the family to help in their time of need. Thank you.
A celebration of life will be determined at a later time and posted here on her obituary.
