Everett Lee "Duke" Hernandez has peacefully been called home to the Lord on June 22, 2025, at the age of 70.
Everett was the youngest child born to a single mother, Jewel L. Wheeler. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas. Everett graduated from Dunbar High School, and he later joined the United States Army.
While in the army, Everett served as an auto mechanic as his primary specialty. His secondary specialty was as a supply specialist and armorer. Everett received the National Service Medal, and a Rifle Marksman Certification. Everett served 2 years, 9 months, and 1 day receiving an honorable discharge.
Afterwards, Duke enjoyed several occupations. The most memorable was being employed by GAF Roofing and Johnson & Johnson.
Everett married once but later divorced. Everett loved life. He thought he was so cool, and an even cooler dancer. Everett, the service man, became ill and discovered the time had come that he needed to be serviced.
In his most recent years, he has been a resident of Park View Care Center. On his behalf, his family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and all of the Park View servants for their loving care and everything they so lovingly gave to him.
Everett L. Hernandez, “Duke”, is survived by his son, Markeveric Hernandez (Theran); his daughters, Phylicia Rawls (Alexis) and Lekeycha Hernandez; his 3 grandchildren; his brother, James Hernandez (Brenda); his sister, Wilma Reeves; his other paternal brothers and sisters (Mr. Sample), nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.
