Eva R. Wallace

February 13, 1938 — May 8, 2024

Eva R. Wallace was born on February 13, 1938, in Tyler, Texas, to L. C. Dennis and Almeda Jones.

Eva Grew up in Tyler, Texas, where she was surrounded by her mother, father, aunts, and grandmother, who taught her how to cook, understand the value of hard work, value life and others, and the importance of having God in her life. She was fortunate to have that type of village and family to help her raise her six children. All who knew her, knew her to be kind, outgoing, loving, but she could be feisty at times, which they can definitely attest to that.

Eva moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1977, and several of her children followed her. She quickly learned her way around a much larger city, as she began to meet new friends, she became a member of the Greater Strangers Rest Missionary Baptist Church, where she dedicated her life to Christ. Eva worked in housekeeping for several hospitals before becoming an Explosives Technician for Gearhardt-Owens, which is now a part of Halliburton. While working, Eva attended school at night and received her Associate’s in Business Administration, and she was able to purchase two homes while living in Fort Worth.

After retiring from Gearhardt-Owens, Eva decided that she did not want to go into the business arena. Instead, she wanted to help others, so she became a Certified Nursing Assistant, and retired in 1999, when her mother Almeda Dennis sadly passed away. After retiring as a CNA, eva moved to Norcross, Georgia, to live with her son. While in Norcross, Eva became a member of the New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church, originally pastored by the late Bishop James H. Morton, located in Decatur, Georgia. Later in life, Eva became a member of the Way Community Church in Conyers, Georgia.

On May 8, 2024, while sleeping peacefully in her favorite recliner, God chose one of His angels to add to His Heavenly Home.

Eva is preceded in death by her parents, L.C. and Almeda Dennis; her granddaughter, Latasha Denise Durham; her cousin and sister, Hattie Louise Jones; her good friend and sister, Marie Taylor.
