Arlington, Texas

Elvia Ruiz, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 30, 1963, in Mexico to Alejo Vazquez and Tirsa Carmona, Elvia’s journey was marked by devotion to family, resilience, and warmth.

Elvia grew up deeply rooted in the values instilled by her parents. While she lovingly remembers her father, Alejo Vazquez, who preceded her in death, she remained a steadfast source of support for her mother, Tirsa Vazquez. Family was the cornerstone of Elvia’s life, and she held deep affection for her siblings: sisters Griselda Torres, Imelda Payan, Patty Vazquez, and brother Candelario Vazquez.

On October 28, 1988, Elvia married Arturo Ruiz in Dallas County, a union that exemplified partnership and love and remained a foundation of her life. Together, they raised a family that was the pride and joy of Elvia’s heart. She is survived by her devoted husband, Arturo, her 3 children, Alex, Arturo and Cassandra Ruiz and their spouses, Julie, Yesenia and Rudy. Elvia found immense happiness in the presence of her seven grandchildren—Alex, Evelyn, Ella, Adriana, Noah, Eva and Zoe—her ultimate source of pride and joy as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Throughout her life, Elvia was known for her tender spirit, which shone brightly in everyday moments. She treasured working in the garden, nurturing life with care and patience, a fitting metaphor for how she nurtured her family. In more recent years, she embraced the joy and creativity of making TikTok videos, a testament to her vibrant spirit and openness to new experiences. Most of all, Elvia delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, whose laughter and love filled her days with happiness.

Elvia courageously battled cancer for eight years, a journey marked by strength and grace. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those who provided comfort and support during this challenging time, offering kindness and care that eased her path.

Elvia Ruiz leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love, devotion to family, and joyful spirit. Her life was a testament to the enduring power of love and family bonds, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
