Kenneth Ray Elmore

February 1, 1931 — October 12, 2022

Kenneth Ray Elmore of Mansfield, Texas, formerly of Kennedale, Texas went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at the age of 91.

Kenneth was born February 1, 1931, in Mertens, Texas to W.A.”Bill” Elmore and Essie Elmore (Yarbrough). He graduated from Mertens High School and later married his first wife, Dorothy Ballew Elmore. They had three children, Dennis Elmore, Karen Reginia Clayton and Donna Elmore (deceased) prior to separating. He later married Pat Floyd Elmore July 26, 1971. From that union he was blessed with her son, David Green and wife, Julie; grandchildren, Hailey Green and Reagan Green.

Kenneth proudly served The United States Army in which he was Private First Class and received Two Bronze Stars for his service in Korea as well as an Occupation Medal for his service in Japan. He was a Baptist, a Mason and spent his career in Electric Distribution. He worked for DPL prior to working for and later retiring from Oncor (TXU). Even after retiring, he went to worked for Standard Electric up into his 80’s. Kenneth really enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and family.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Highland Village in Mansfield for their care and love especially to his latest companion Bobbie Burnett for the time that they had together at Highland Village. Also, to Mansfield Methodist and the chaplain for the very considerate Veteran Bereavement Ceremony and presentation of the U.S. Flag to our family.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Ballew Elmore; parents, Bill and Essie Elmore; daughter, Donna Elmore; sisters, Doris, Laverne (Sis), Frances, Betty and LouAnn; brothers, Harold, Billy, and Bobby.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Genia Clayton; sons, Dennis Elmore and wife Yvonne; David Green and wife Julie; grandchildren, Shane and Angie Elmore, Candice and Mike Zamora, Hailey Green and Reagan Green; great-grandchildren, Tyler Perez, Tyler Ray Elmore, Zoey Elmore, Grace Elmore, Elli Zamora, Gabbi Zamora and Lexi Zamora; two great-great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family.
