Edward Franklin Ellis has gone to be with the Lord on April 26, 2024, at the age of 95.
Ed was born on September 23, 1928, in Corsicana, Texas, to Gertie Mae Stone and Leonard Elmer Ellis. Over his long life, he lived in many places, including Texas, Colorado, and Utah. Ed was settled in Mansfield, TX at the time of his passing. Ed worked at many places including UNIVAC in Utah, and Lockheed Martin in Grand Prairie as an aerospace program manager. In 1948, Ed married Dorothy Ann Snyder. He was married to her for 45 years before she passed in 1992. Ed received a second chance at love when he married Judy Ann Diesen ( née Hennon) on May 28, 1993, in Mansfield, Texas. Ed was formerly an elder at Freetown Church of Christ and a member of North Davis Church of Christ but had been a member at Crossroads Christian Church before he passed. Ed was an active participant in these congregations, and his love for Christ was so great that he had a passion for sharing it with others. This was exemplified in his many years of mission work, traveling the world and teaching people English by reading the Bible with them. In his later years, with no intent on slowing down, Ed went on multiple trips around the world, including a trip to Europe primarily on a train, and innumerable cruises.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Gertie and Leonard; his late wife, Dorothy Ellis; his brothers, Gene Ellis and Benny Stone; his grandson, Nic Ellis; his granddaughter, Trinity Dickerson.
