Beverly Lackey Dye

November 24, 1951 — October 20, 2022

Beverly Lackey Dye, wonderful mother and Gigi passed away in Mansfield, Texas on Thursday,
October 20, 2022 at age 70. Beverly was born in Kerrville, Texas on November 24, 1951 to her
mother, Myra Bettye Garrett Milton, and her father, John Clayton Milton. She was their fourth
child and grew up in Center Point, Texas. Beverly was a proud member of the CPHS class of
1970 where she participated in sports, cheerleading and was a majorette. She was quite active in
her youth and was often referred to as “Ellie Mae” due to her love for animals and choice of pets.
Other than her dogs and cats, many wild animals and their offspring in the hill country spent time
being tamed and loved by Beverly.
Beverly and Jimmy Lackey were lifelong friends. Their attraction to each other culminated in
marriage by the time they finished school. At that time they were married and began a family of
their own. Being a good, Godly mother was the most important thing to Beverly. She lived her
life for her family. Jimmy and Beverly moved to Mansfield, Texas and there soon started two
successful businesses: Paragon Packaging and Utopia Fitness.
Beverly and Lewis Dye were married in December of 2003 and successfully blended their
families. They spent nearly 20 years living happily together in Mansfield, Texas. They enjoyed
spending their weekends supporting their grandchildren at various events, preparing for holidays
with their large family and visiting Fort Worth. They traveled some and enjoyed the opportunities
they had to play golf. Beverly’s dedication to being a good mom is something that never wavered
and she expanded that role into becoming the perfect Gigi prioritizing time to be with her family.
Beverly spent a lifetime anchored in her faith in God and striving to live a life that reflected His
love to those around her. Her faith was clear in the way she ran her businesses, gave back to her
community, and most of all, in the way she loved her family.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Dye, parents Clayton and Bettye Milton,
brothers David and Phillip Milton, and nephew Weston Stevens. She is survived by her children,
Courtney Lackey Wilson (Bruce Morris), Justin Lackey (Jenny), and Collin Lackey (Courtney),
Stepsons Mason and Spencer Dye; her 13 grandchildren, Tanner, Chase and Dax Wilson, Cannon
and Elise Lackey, Anna, Benji and Mary Lackey, Jordan, Barron, Caroline, Brandon and Taylor
Morris; her sister, Kathy and Chester Stevens. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews who
dearly loved her and a multitude of loving and faithful friends.
There will be a service for those that would like to celebrate her life and say their last goodbye
on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield, Texas.
