Dr. Donna Irene Cook

January 21, 1955 — July 12, 2025

Dr. Donna Cook, a vivacious, kind-hearted soul, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and healer, departed this world on Saturday, July 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, curiosity, and color.

Donna was a woman who lived life with a wide-open heart and an ever-curious mind. A lifelong student and passionate practitioner of chiropractic and holistic medicine, she believed deeply in the body’s ability to heal and the soul’s need for laughter. Her calm demeanor could settle a storm, and her sharp, surprising, and always well-timed wit could light up a room. Books, animals, and people were her great loves—each one treated with a tender attention and thoughtful care. Her home was a haven of dog-eared pages, herbal teas, and curious treasures from lives well-lived.

She also found deep joy in the simple magic of baking for her family. Her famous fudge could move mountains—and never once survived a holiday without vanishing completely. And her chocolate chip walnut cookies? A soft, warm kind of love tucked into every bite, and a personal favorite that will never be forgotten.

And Donna loved color. Boldly. Unapologetically. Whether she matched her shirt to her earrings or not (and they were usually close), she wore brightness like armor, inviting others to do the same. In honor of her spirited style, the family asks that those attending her service come dressed in joyful, vivid hues—a celebration of the color she brought to this world.

Donna viewed her journey as a celebration, not a farewell. She believed her cottage in the woods was waiting for her—peaceful, sun-dappled, and filled with all the love she gave so freely in this life. She hoped for stories to be shared, laughter to echo, and joy to remain at the heart of her remembrance. But above all else, Donna’s heartbeat loudest for her family. She was the fierce and gentle center of her universe—loving wife of over thirty years to Troy Cook, devoted mother to Brandon (Stacy) and Marvis (Amber), and adoring grandmother to Skyler, Saylor, Brooklyn, Kortney, Ashlee, Damion, Marvis, McClain and Ashtin and great-grandmother to her ten great-grandchildren.

Her life was a patchwork quilt of kindness, curiosity, and care—stitched together with steady hands and a soul that never stopped reaching for meaning, healing, and love. Though her physical presence has passed, the essence of Donna—her wisdom, humor, and radiant spirit—will echo forever in the hearts she touched.

May her memory continue to bloom in every book opened, every remedy shared, every cookie baked with love, and every burst of bright color worn in her honor.

The family would like to extend an invitation to join them at their home for a luncheon starting at 330 at 1060 Iron Horse Drive, Saginaw TX 76131. All are welcome
