Douglas Lee Chaney

Douglas Lee Chaney has peacefully passed away on April 8, 2026, at the age of 70.

Doug was born on August 5, 1955, in Graham, Texas, to Mary Ann and Hiram Chaney. He was truly dedicated to his time at Lynness Construction, working for his sidekick, Darryl, spending many years working for his great buddy, John Moore, making countless memories together. Beyond work, he absolutely loved getting together with his lively group of friends - they were quite the rowdy bunch, and he cherished every moment and memory made with them. He had a wonderful way of making everyone feel special, always being the most charming and kind person around, especially to the ladies. And of course, he absolutely adored children, always having a special place in his heart for bringing a smile to their faces. He also loved fishing, playing pool - kicking everyone's butt - and he loved having big family gatherings to be able to spend time with everyone.

His family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Harris Methodist Hospital for all the support and care given to Doug during his treatment there. They would also ask that in lieu of flowers, you would consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society in Doug's honor.

Doug is preceded in death by his father, Hiram Chaney; his son, Doug "Bo" Chaney; his brother, Larry Chaney.

Those left to cherish Doug's memory are his mother, Mary Chaney; his daughter, Rachel Chaney; his siblings, Brenda Damron, Rickey Chaney, and Jerry Chaney; his grandchildren, Jordan, Justis, Jayden, Madison, Clayton, and Zaylie, along with numerous nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends.
