Doug Strickland

Doug Strickland has gone to watch the big races July 2, 2024, at the age of 57.

On April 7, 1967, Doug was born in Dallas, Texas to Derryl Strickland and Patricia Rose Johnson.

Doug graduated high school and took some college courses, and finally settled on construction work for his career. On a beautiful May 24th in 2015, Doug married his sweetheart, Julia Carr in Crowley, Texas. He was known for cheering for his favorite NASCAR driver, enjoying the drag races, keeping his handicap down in golf, going out hunting, or with family and friends playing darts, pool, horseshoes and washers. And Doug was absolutely crazy about his grandbabies!

He is preceded in death by his father, Derryl Strickland and his grandparents.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Julia Strickland; daughter, Baylie Strickland; sons, Logan Strickland, Jeremey Peterson (stepson), Joshua Kelly (stepson); mother, Patricia Rose Johnson; sister, Monica Ashby; brothers, Randy Strickland of Brownwood Texas, Greg Strickland, Leland and wife Sandra Strickland, Monty and wife Reagan Strickland, Mark Strickland; grandchildren, Sylvia James, Sophie Grogan, Gabby, John, Jonhetta Peterson, Talonn Strickland; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
