Donald Edwin Shockley Sr August 29,1941 - March 07, 2026
Don was born on August 29, 1941 to Tommy and Mary Shockley in Elkhart, Iowa. Most of his childhood was spent in Iowa with his Grandpa and Grandma Shockley along with his Brother, Jimmy Shockley. During his early teenage years, he moved to California with his Mom, Dad (Mary and Joseph Shockley), Brothers (Leroy, Jimmy and David) and Sisters (Mary Jo, Julia, Beverly). Don attended Tulare Union High School until joining the Navy in 1958.
Don married Dixie Killman in 1959. He had Tammy, Joe and Beki during this union. He began to drive 18 wheelers at that time and never lost the passion. In 1976, Don married Francis Pruitt adding Janice, Marvin (Bubba) and Sandra to his family along with Donnie Jr. In 1977, Don met and married the love of his life, Linda Lou Walton-Pritchard. Kevin became one of his children and Trinity was born into our family in 1978.
Don loved being a truck driver. The road was always calling and he enjoyed traveling. He had a Gypsy heart with a Cowboy Soul. On his journey of one million miles over the road, he shared Jesus and his love of the USA to everyone he could. His preference of traveling was towards the West but would go East (if necessary). He believed a man’s word was good until it wasn’t, a firm handshake sealed the deal, stand tall against adversity and always respect your elders.
Don was preceded in death by his wife (Linda), his Son (Joe), his Mom and Dad (Mary and Joe), his Father (Tommy), his Sister (Pauline, Gladys, Mary Jo), his brothers (Leroy, Charlie, Jimmy and David) and his Granddaughter (Dixie Rose).
Don is survived by his Children (Tammy, Beki, Kevin, Donnie and Trinity), his Sisters (Julia and Beverly) and many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
