Denica Ann Jimenez

1965 — 2026

Born July 18th, 1965, she received her wings on February 15th, 2026.

If there was ever a word that could describe Denica, it would be loyal. If you were fortunate enough to be in her inner circle you felt blessed.

Her first love was family. She was raised to believe family was everything. She knew how blessed she was to have had the family she was raised with. She frequently shared stories about those nights around the dinner table for eight. She would often say that’s when she understood what love truly was.

She loved telling stories from her childhood. The summer day when mom and dad came home from the flea market with a bicycle for her in the back of the station wagon, lying on her back on the old camper trailer in the backyard looking at the clouds, trying to decide what they looked like. The squabbles on Saturday mornings with her younger siblings about which cartoon they were going to watch. She usually won and it was Bugs Bunny. Her childhood was filled with happy and fun times!

She graduated from Kennedale High School, Class of ‘83. She was proud of her alma mater. After high school, she stayed close to home working for the local Dairy Queen, where she made a lot of friends in the community. Everyone in town knew her.

She was proud to talk about her faith in Jesus Christ. She was raised in church and was a member of First Bible Baptist Church in Kennedale for a good part of her life. Later in life she was a member of Countryside Baptist Church in Mansfield TX, where she served as a Sunday school teacher.

She loved music and loved to sing in the choir and as a soloist. Many hours were spent practicing a song until it was as close to perfection as she could get it. She believed God deserved her best.

Denica never had children of her own but spent most of her life being the best Stepmom she could be. She knew from her own life experience that stability and family values were everything. She was also a great dog mom. She loved her fur babies!

Mere words are inadequate to express the kindness, wit, love, and generosity that were her very presence. Her pleasure in family, friends, fur babies, and good selfie were only eclipsed by her desire to bring a smile and joy to a friend or a stranger.

Despite her journey’s heartbreak at times, she remained faithful to God until the end. Denica's smile and love are forever etched into the hearts of her family and friends. Maythe memory of the ever-present sparkle in her eye bring light to the darkness of our grief.

She is preceded in death by her Mother Billie Marie Pope, First Husband Ron Hudson, Second Husband Alfred Womack, Third Husband, Johnny Jiminez, Brother James Weldon Pope Jr, and Sister Jan Cotto Aguirre.

She is survived by her Father James Pope, Kennedale TX, Siblings Gary Pope and Norma Slaton TX, Kenney Pope and Cynthia Fort Worth TX, Regena Anderson and Simon Fort Worth TX and Troy Pope Kennedale TX, many nieces and nephews along with lifelong friends.
