Delores Linda Hurd

Delores Linda Hurd was born on September 27, 1947 in Fort Worth, TX to Mable and Earlis Johnson. She departed this life on December 12, 2023, during the 7th day of Hanukkah.

Delores graduated from Como High School and received a bachelor's degree in biology from Texas Wesleyan University.

She was married to Carlos Hurd on June 8, 1968. They were blessed with three children: Marcus, Carmen, and Joseph.

She worked for St. Joseph's Hospital in Fort Worth, TX as a surgical technician, and as a teacher's aide for the Fort Worth Independent School District.

Delores loved sewing, carpentry, upholstery, calligraphy, drawing, and exploring nature. She had a passion for teaching young children and teenage mothers.

She is survived by her children, COL Marcus Hurd & Carmen Reinmund. Her grandchildren, Carlos II & Kaylee Perez- Hurd. Her brothers. Joseph "Buck" Johnson & Bobby Woods; and her sisters, Virginia Woods & Deborah Wadlev.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos, and their youngest son, Joseph. Her mother, Mable Woods, birth father Earlis Johnson, stepfather Nathaniel Woods, and siblings Ernest Johnson & "Theo" Elizabeth Johnson.

Her children rise up and call her Blessed...
