Delbert Wayne Johnson

Delbert Wayne Johnson was born in Greene County, Arkansas on September 18, 1937. He passed into the arms of Jesus on July 17, 2026, at 88 years, 10 months of age.

Delbert was #8 of 11 children born to Clyde William and Myrtle Gertrude Noel Johnson. After being voted as MOST FRIENDLY and MOST HANDSOME by the class of 1957, Delbert Wayne Johnson graduated from Oak Grove High School, Paragould, Arkansas.

In the summer of 1957 Delbert caught a bus and moved to Fort Worth Texas. In 1958, he met Betty Louise Roberts. She had made the decision to move to Fort Worth from Tennessee. After knowing each other for three months, a country boy from Arkansas and a beautiful girl from Tennessee drove to the courthouse in Ardmore, OK and wed on January 10, 1959, " just because they could.” Together, they were married 59 years, 10 months. Betty preceded him in death on November 10, 2018.

Two children were born to Delbert and Betty: 1959 Donald Wayne and 1963 Natalie Mae. Besides earlier occupations, Delbert worked for American Bakeries, Taystee Bread, Fort Worth, Texas, 1958 -1973, and Miller Brewery, Fort Worth 1973 – 2002.

They chose to live in the communities of Fort Worth, Alvarado, and Burleson, TX.

Delbert is preceded in death by Spouse, Betty Louise Roberts Johnson (1938-2018); Parents, Clyde William (1896-1971) and Myrtle Gertrude Noel Johnson (1901-1995); Siblings, Helen Penny (1919-1943), Floyd D (1920), Wilma Francis Petropolus (1921-2016), Jefferson Wells (1924-2008), Nima Jean Bowden (1927-2009), Dorthea Almeda Gillian (1932-1990), Wade Delano (1934-1995) Fayetta Carolyn Humphries (1940-2022); Great Granddaughter, Makenzi Faye Johnson (2008-2017), and angel babies; Nephew like a brother: Jimmie Allen Rowland (1942-2021).

Delbert is survived by his children; Son, Donald Wayne and wife Deborah of Abilene, Texas; Daughter, Natalie Mae and husband Van Bush of Burleson, Texas; six (6) grandchildren and their spouses; Grandson, Donald Jr (Donnie) and Amber Johnson, Sterlington, LA, Grandson, Joshua and Katrina Johnson, Galveston, TX, Granddaughter, Brandi and Michael Dennis, Midlothian, TX, Granddaughter, Stormy and Brandon Garfias, Alvarado, TX, Grandson, Nathan and Kelsey Ellison, College Station, TX, and Grandson Timothy Bush, Fort Worth, TX;  16 great grandchildren; (Donald Jr) Savannah, Simon, Blaine, Madison, Julian, Alexis (Joshua), Alyssa, Daniel, Makenze (Brandi), Austin, Emma, Nora, Harrison, (Stormy) Mikayla, Kyle, (Nathan) Reid Asher ; There are two known great great grandchildren; (Daniel) Brantley, (Savannah) Statler; In addition, He is survived by Sisters, Betty Ann Nichols (Tyrone) and Wanda Bonney (Marvin), and in-law siblings Joann Roberts, Samuel and Shirley Roberts, Thomas and Jackie Roberts, Daniel and Nancy Roberts, Joy and Virgil Gibson, LaDonna and Ronnie Hyde, Scott Harvey, Linda Guisinger numerous nieces and nephews.
