Daniel Paul Rabovsky passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, at Midtowne Meadows Health and Rehab in Midlothian, Texas at the age of 77. He is preceded in death by his parents, Boris and Marion, his brothers Butch and Joe, and his sisters Joan and Patty. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his two sons, Jonathan and Thomas, his daughter in-law, Renee, his two grandchildren, Jordan and James, and his Texas Bonus family of Shane, Krissa, and Hattie Harris, Robin Harris, and Samuel Rangel.
Originally from Bridgeport, Connecticut, Dan was the first in his family to earn a college degree, graduating first from Gordon College in 1970 and then from Princeton Theological Seminary with a master’s degree in 1974. After school, he moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where he met his first wife, Catherine, while working as an Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church. In 1979 he moved to Tulsa, where he lived for 41 years, to become Pastor at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.
In 1987, Dan earned a second master’s degree (social work) from the University of Oklahoma and became the Executive Director at Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa, where he worked for 27 years before retiring in 2014. He also served as Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Nowata, from 1999 until 2014. In December of 2020, he moved to Mansfield, Texas and soon married Barbara, who was his soulmate.
Dan had an eclectic array of hobbies and interests, including photography, food, history, trains, music, and gardening. Most of all, he loved sports (basketball and football in particular) and was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan.
He was a magnificent man: smart, funny, curious, compassionate, loving, charitable, conscientious, and honorable. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Dan to the Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa Endowment Fund
