Daniel Olivo Cuevas

Daniel Olivo Cuevas was born in McKinney, Texas, on January 17, 1958 and passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 26, 2024, at the age of 66 years old. He lived in Chicago Heights, IL until he moved his family to Venus, Texas in 1995.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 32 years, Julie Ann Gregg Cuevas; his children Marialisia Cuevas (Ellison Collins) and Daniel Cuevas Jr. (Jenny Cox Cuevas); his stepchildren Jim Gregg (Amanda Martin Gregg) and Teresa Gaskin Seybold (Tom Seybold); his sisters Enriqueta Cuevas and Maria Cuevas Munoz (Neminso Munoz); his sister-in-law Sonjanette Brown Cuevas; his grandchildren Joseph Sparks (Lauren Marshall Sparks), Shalai Jazmine Danielle Cuevas, Daniel Jude Cuevas, Jonah Alexander Cuevas, Cora Elizabeth Cuevas, Mia Rosario Cuevas, Kendo Leon Cuevas, Chad Gregg, Chris Gregg (Marissa Watashe Gregg), Stephanie Gregg (Andrew Leger), Davin Cline, Michael Palomo, and Mark Gaskin; his 8 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Cuevas and Enriqueta Olivo Cuevas; his brother, Manuel Olivo Cuevas; and his son, Alexander Salvatore Cuevas.

He was a hard-working man most of his life, working as a foreman for Murphy Machinery Street Sweepers and then as a production manager for Ed Walker Construction. In the evenings, he was usually fixing somebody’s car to make a little extra money. He took pride in providing for his family and was steadfast in passing on the value of hard work to his children. In his leisure time, he loved to play bingo, watch movies, and enjoy some golden oldy music.

A visitation will be held at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Arlington, TX on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:30am. A memorial service will take place at 11:00am with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers (because they are prohibited in the chapel), gifts can be sent to his widow or donations made to the church.
