Dale Agnew, a devoted family man and respected local and over-the-road truck driver, passed away on May 20, 2026, in Burleson, Texas. Born on August 4, 1954, in Forsythe, Montana, Dale lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a deep love for the sports and pastimes that brought him joy.
Dale graduated from Cooper High School and furthered his education by attending Texas Tech University. His commitment to serving his country was demonstrated through his four years of service in the United States Navy as a Radioman. This period not only highlighted his sense of duty but also helped shape the disciplined and dependable character he was known for among friends and family.
Throughout his career, Dale worked both locally and on long-haul routes as a truck driver—a profession through which he forged countless connections and was admired for his professionalism and work ethic. Beyond his work life, Dale was an avid sports fan with a particular passion for fishing and all major league sports; however, his heart belonged to the Dallas Cowboys, of whom he was a diehard fan.
Family was central to Dale’s life. He is survived by his daughter, Chelsea Moon, and her husband, Dylan; his brothers Gary Agnew and Beth Agnew of Billings, Montana; Bert Agnew and Teresa Agnew of Abilene, Texas; and Darryle Agnew and Margie Agnew of Nashville, Tennessee. He was a cherished grandfather to Ashton Moon, Jaden McIntyre, Jacob Moon, and Isaiah Moon. His nieces, Rachael and Stacy, and nephews, Gresham, Christopher, Brandon, and Justin, also carry fond memories of him. Dale’s parents, Granvell and Claudia Agnew, preceded him in death.
Dale’s legacy is one of steadfast commitment—whether in his family, his country, or his work—combined with a personable spirit and unwavering pride in his hometown roots. His presence will be sorely missed yet fondly remembered by all who knew him.
