Nancy Elizabeth Cosgrove (Teal)
MANSFIELD, TEXAS
Nancy Cosgrove, 79, of 843 Newt Patterson Rd, died in her home on the evening of May 24th, 2021.
Born October 8, 1941, in Elkhart, Indiana. Daughter of Harry O. and Marie (Essig) Teal. Nancy graduated from Elkhart High School in 1959. She then attended Indiana State University in Terra Haute, where she met her 1st husband, Ahmad Soltani. They married, moved to California, and raised 2 daughters. Nancy finished her academic career at Glendale College and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Music degree from California State University, Los Angeles. Nancy married her 2nd husband, Tom Cosgrove, in 1988, welcoming the addition of 5 stepchildren. Several years after Tom’s passing, she followed her youngest daughter to Texas. Nancy moved for the last time in 2018 to Mansfield, Texas.
Nancy was the lead cellist for the Glendale College Symphony Orchestra, on the council at Evergreen Lutheran Church (Phelan, CA), Secretary and President of the Piñon Hills Chamber of Commerce, and the Honorary Mayor of Piñon Hills, California. She was also a licensed Real Estate Agent, working for Sandy Young Real Estate in Piñon Hills. And most recently, a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mansfield, TX.
Nancy is survived by her daughters Manijeh Carmichael (Jim), Elizabeth Martin (Mike), stepchildren Rodger Cosgrove, Dr. Daniel Cosgrove (Doriana), Carrie Pryor, Lucille Nunn (Sam), and Dr. Zachary Cosgrove (Sharon), 23 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, brother Stanley Teal, sister Mary McClellan (Sonny) and brother William Teal (Sharon), along with lots of extended family and friends.
Nancy will be laid to rest at Everman Cemetery, Texas. The family will be having a graveside service, with friend and family member, Pastor Allen Walker, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Evergreen Lutheran Church, 9526 Vinton Rd, Phelan, California 92371.
