Jack Cook, 93, passed away on July 4th 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Jack was born in Fort Worth on April 22, 1929 to Robert “Bob” Lee Cook and Edna Lee Holland Cook.
He was a man whose glass was always half-full. He always had a joke to tell and a smile on his face.
Jack served in the Navy during the Korean War and spent much of his time in the service on submarines.
He was an entrepreneur and started Cook Electric in 1960. He was full of life and never met a stranger.
Jack loved his wife Virginia of 53 years. He was very active in the Smithfield United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School and enjoying many friendships.
Jack was independent and liked to stay busy, working into his 90’s.
He enjoyed reading and studying history, watching Johnny Carson, and a good conversation. He could always be counted on for words of wisdom and a good laugh.
He loved his family dearly including his many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his wife Virginia Cook, sons Paul Cook, Monte Cook, Kenneth Speer and Ronald Speer and daughters Carol Doss and Audrey McDonald.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Robert “Bob” Lee Cook and Mother Edna Lee Holland Cook, six siblings, Edith Worthington, Floyd Cook, B.W. Cook, R.D. Cook, Robert “Bobby” Lee Cook Jr., twin sister Margaret Lory Ethetton and son Bill Cook.
Grave side services will be performed at DFW National Cemetery on July 14th at 10 am.
