Claude N. Reid

Nov 22, 1949 — Oct 11, 2026

Arlington, TX

Claude N. Reid, born November 22, 1949, in Borger, Texas, passed away on October 11, 2026, in Arlington, Texas.

Claude lived a life shaped by service, steady work, faith, and the simple pleasures that bring people together. He attended Sanford High School and continued his education through welding and electronics trade schools, building a foundation for a hardworking and varied career. Over the years, he served in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1980, and also worked as a welder, salesman, and security guard. In each role, he carried the dependability and discipline that marked his life.

He found joy in music, in watching sports, and in reading his Bible. Those who knew him will remember a man of presence and purpose, someone whose way of moving through the world left an impression. His marriage to Shirley Reid on December 15, 1994, in Fort Worth, Texas, stood among his proudest accomplishments. He was also affiliated with the Gospel Music Association, the American Legion, and many other organizations over the years. Loved ones hold close the comforting image that he is now organizing Heaven’s incoming queue with his notebook and pencil, a memory that captures both affection and the spirit in which he will be remembered.

Claude was preceded in death by his father, Buster Reid; his mother, Ruth Reid; and his wife, Shirley Reid.

He leaves behind a family who will carry his memory forward with love. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Manuel, Keven Toscano, and Sherlyn Cooper and her husband Kevin; by his son, John Reid, and John’s wife, Ursula; and by his sister, Barbara Reid. He also leaves his grandchildren, Ryan Reid, Cooper Reid, Emmersen Reid, Avery Mendoza, Edward Manuel, Winter Manuel, Michael Crawford, Christine Harris, Ashley Trudeau, as well as his great-grandchild, Ethan Harris. Also mourning his passing are his nephews, Jerry Lewis and Heath Lewis, along with his best friend, Alex Sepulveda, and his longtime friend, Larry Martinez. May the love he gave, the work he did, and the faith he held continue to live on in all who knew him.
