Catherine Romero, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend to many, passed from this world on November 22, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on January 18, 1947, Catherine lived a life filled with love, kindness, and a remarkable dedication to her family and community.
For many years, Catherine served as the supervisor of the custodial team for the Cedar Hill School District. Her unwavering commitment to cleanliness and order made a significant impact on the school environment, where she was well-loved by colleagues and students alike. Yet, while she took pride in her work, it was her role as a mother and grandmother that truly defined her existence.
Catherine was the proud mother of seven wonderful children: her daughters, Brenda and her husband Jeff Sandidge, Grace Adams, Cyndie and her husband Chris Graham, and Michelle Serrato; along with her sons, Michael and his wife Crystal Serrato, Joe and his wife Dianne Serrato, and Robert Serrato. A devoted mother, she poured her heart into raising her children, nurturing them with lessons of compassion, strength, and love. Her legacy continues through her many grandchildren—Nicole, Gabby, Christopher, Tyler, Destanie, Abigail, Madison, Brandon, Joel, Clint, and April—each holding a special place in her heart. Catherine’s love extended beyond her immediate family to include many great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory forward.
Catherine found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She attended Countryside Baptist Church, where her faith and spirit flourished. Her love for reading the Bible provided her with solace and guidance, while her enjoyment of dancing, singing, and fishing offered moments of joy and happiness. Most importantly, Catherine cherished time spent with her family, creating lasting memories and bonds that will be treasured forever.
Catherine's warm smile, infectious laughter, and generous spirit left a lasting mark on all who crossed her path. She embodied resilience, nurturing those around her with her gentle words and loving actions. Her absence will be profoundly felt among her family, friends, and the community she so dearly loved.
A funeral service will be held in her honor on December 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield, Texas. This will be followed by a burial, where family and friends can come together to celebrate a life beautifully lived.
As we remember Catherine Romero, we carry with us not only the love she shared but also the heavy heart of those who will miss her immensely. May we find comfort in our memories as we bid farewell to a remarkable woman whose spirit will live on in each of us.
