Michael James Burney

Michael James Burney, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the age of 46 in Burleson, Texas.

Visitation: 6-8pm Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Skyvue Funeral Home.
Service: 11am Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Skyvue Funeral Home. Interment: Skyvue Memorial Gardens.

Michael was born on May 18, 1975 in Arlington, Texas to Jimmy Dale Burney and Dena Barrington Burney. On January 18, 2003, he married Kristyne Luster Burney in Alvarado, Texas.

Michael loved everything outdoors. He was an avid deer and bow hunter. He enjoyed fishing, paintballing, four wheeling/MEGA RUN, archery and taking the RV on camping trips with his family and friends. He was also known for being and awesome pit master. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law, and a great friend. His caring smile and loving spirit will be deeply missed.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Dale Burney and Dena Barrington Burney.

He is survived by his wife, Kristyne Luster Burney; daughter, Elizabeth Marks and husband Michael Marks; son, Nathan Burney and wife Julie Burney; furbaby, Molly Burney; sister, Laura Utz and husband Roger Utz; brothers, Terry Burney and Kim Burney, David Allen Burney and wife Tammy Burney; grandchildren, Brooklyn Cagel, Carter Cagel, Adelynn Isbell-Burney, Wyatt Blackstock-Burney, Kegan Blackstock-Burney, Jacqueline Marks; nieces, Kaitlin Cox, Peyton Burney, Amy Utz, Celeste Burney; nephew, Zack Burney; sister-in-law, Lisa Dodwell and wife Christy Fletcher; mother-in-law, Nellice Luster Cosby and fiancé Jimmy Fry; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
