Bruce LaNoel Harris, 63, of Mansfield, Texas, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by love on September 13, 2025. A celebration of his beautiful life will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Cowboy Church Worship Center Ellis County of Waxahachie, Texas at 1:00P.M.
Bruce was born on February 27, 1962, in Duncan, Oklahoma, the second child of Bobby Wayne Harris, Sr. and Sandra Schornick Reeder. Bruce’s childhood was filled with adventure as his family lived in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky, before returning to Duncan, where he spent his junior high and high school years. A natural athlete, Bruce excelled in football, baseball, and wrestling. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1980 and went on to attend the University of Oklahoma, remaining a lifelong and devoted Sooner fan—Boomer Sooner!
Sports continued to play an important role throughout Bruce’s life. He played softball for many years and shared his passion for athletics by coaching select baseball, the Grand Prairie Gators, and wrestling, the Woodrow Wilson Hornets. Bruce’s love for travel and his magnetic personality made him “the life of the party,” always bringing laughter and joy wherever he went.
A skilled craftsman, Bruce found great satisfaction in remodeling homes and building furniture. He had a gift for working with his hands and creating lasting things of beauty and function. He traveled parts of the country using these skills. Bruce settled down in Mansfield, Texas, where he was a superintendent for Hillwood Construction.
Above all, Bruce’s greatest joy was his family. He loved spending time with his wife Diann. They went to concerts, festivals, and traveled. Bruce cherished every moment spent with his kids, Hunter, Elle, and Drew. They each enjoyed a special bond with their father. Bruce had a way of making everyone feel like they were the most important person in the room. He enjoyed family reunions and reuniting with friends. Bruce was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation.
Bruce will be remembered for his humor, his energy, his generosity, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. His legacy will live on in the love he gave and the countless lives he touched.
