Oliver Brooks, also known as “Dilly” departed this life peacefully on November 16, 2021. He was born in Woodlawn, Texas on May 16, 1940 to Daisy Brooks and A.C. Bennett Sr.

Oliver spent his early years in Longview where he attended Mary C. Womack High School Class of 1961. In the early 70s Oliver relocated to Fort Worth, Texas where he met and married Mary Helen Patterson Brooks. Oliver was the proud owner of a lucrative dump trucking company and also worked and retired from Lockheed Martin. He was the neighborhood friend and advisor. He will be truly missed.

Oliver was preceded in death by his wife Mary Helen Brooks, son Michael Brooks, grandson Dominic Brooks, mother Daisy Brooks, father A.C. Bennett Sr, sisters Earlene Blaze, Glory Miller, Annie Ruth Bennett and brother Webby Bennett.

He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters Monica Ingram (Scott) of Arlington, TX, Wanda Brooks of Arlington, TX, Mary Sales (Nathan) of Atlanta, GA; son Oliver Brooks II of San Antonio, TX; brothers Ray Brooks (Nell), A.C. Bennett Jr, William Bennett and Warren Bennett; sisters Carlotta Berry (Oliver) and Cassandra Troskie; grandchildren Sarah Purdy, Cherish Jackson (Justin), Dremene Smith, Yasmine Brooks, Kellen Ingram (Kiersten), Meyandra Brooks, Geoffrey Ingram, Nathan Sales Jr, and Mya Sales; great grandchildren Sha’Ryah Smith, JaKyah Jackson, Jakai Jackson; long time family friend Sammie Kennedy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be dearly missed.
