Francesca Galofaro "Francine" Becque

Frncesca Galofaro Becque, 68, went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2021.

Francesca “Francine” Galofaro Becque born July 28, 1952 in Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily, Italy immigrating to the United States at the age of 14. She leaves behind her most prized possession, her only child, George Hondros. She worked long hours and happily did so to provide the best life she could give to her son, George. She was the proud owner of Metro Bakery, a commercial bakery serving the DFW area from almost 30 years.

She is presided in death by her mother, Giovanna Bonventre and her father, Vito Galofaro both of Castellammare del Golfo, Italy.

Francesca is survived by her son, George, she also leaves behind her husband, Philippe Becque. As well, She leaves behind her brothers, Francesco “Frank” Galofaro, Giuseppe “Joe” Galofaro . George and Megan would like to especially thank Francesca’s niece and goddaughter, Jennifer Galofaro Makriniotis for her assisting in her aunt’s care during the final days of her life.

Along with so many other nieces and nephews she leaves behind, she also leaves behind her entire work family, especially acknowledging Alon and Jose for their years of loyal service to her and her business. Finally, we would like to thank the countless number of loved and loyal customers, restaurants and chefs. In honor of her memory, we both the bakery and her customers will move forward to continue to grow and prosper. Her customers were family to her so on this day, we want to make sure they know how important they were to Francine and how dearly she loved serving her community customers for almost 30 years.
