Barry Dale Patterson passed away peacefully on June 25th, 2024, with his loving wife, Gerrianne by his side. Born on July 3rd, 1963, in Hurst, he was the son of Larry and Judith Patterson.
Barry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a man of faith. His family was the cornerstone of his life. He was a kind-hearted man who brought joy and laughter wherever he went. Known for his easy-going nature, Barry's smile and laugh were infectious. He had a unique way of connecting with people, often through his fun sayings, many of which he borrowed from movies but delivered as if they were his own. Barry had an unwavering happiness and never seemed to get upset, a trait that endeared him to all who knew him.
His family fondly remembers how he would call all his daughters 'sister' because he could never keep their names straight. Barry's goofy antics with his grandkids, his unmistakable voice cheering from the bleachers, and his ever-present baseball cap are memories that will be cherished forever. He would brag just a little bit when playing cards, always careful not to make anyone feel bad about losing. He had a special talent for making even the simplest moments memorable, whether it was playing drums on his steering wheel to his favorite rock bands, laughing hysterically at TV shows, or reading the Christmas story from the Bible to the kids. Barry's greatest joy was being surrounded by his family, and his love for them was evident in everything he did.
Barry leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gerrianne; his children, Lauren Beth Aldridge and husband WJ, Brittanie McDonald and husband Calvin, Tiffanie Patterson and partner Liam, Christopher Patterson and wife Bethany, Dale Aycox and wife Carey; his sister, Kim Patterson; his brother, Bryan Patterson; his mother-in-law, Berniece Alvarez. His true joy in life was being Paw Paw to his seven grandchildren: Mason, Cordale, Kendall, Brooklynn, Kambree, Jaxon, and Coltton, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Judith.
Barry will be remembered as a loving, kind, and gentle man who always put the needs of others ahead of his own. His stories, infectious laugh, and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
