Barbara Echols Creamer was born March 2, 1950, in Charleston, West Virginia. After a life dedicated to caring for others and nurturing her loved ones, Barbara passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, in Crowley, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and profound love.
Throughout her fulfilling career as a registered nurse in the hospice field, Barbara exemplified selflessness and dedication. Her work in hospice care was not just a job; it was a calling that allowed her to provide comfort and support to those in their most vulnerable moments. Barbara approached her patients with warmth, patience, and unparalleled empathy, making a significant impact on the lives she touched.
In her free time, Barbara found solace in arts and crafts, where her creativity flourished, and she delighted in expressing herself through handmade treasures. Equally cherished were the moments spent surrounded by family and friends, whom she held dear to her heart. The laughter and love shared in the company of her loved ones were what truly brought her joy.
Barbara is survived by her beloved sister, Joyce Echols Murray and her husband, Steve Murray; her precious grandchild, Presley Ann Tomatis; and her beloved nieces, Sarah Murray, Ivie, Stacey Denovchik Buckner and her husband, Matt, and Amy Denovchik. She is also survived by her nephew, Nathan Murray and his wife, Chrissie. A special friend and lifelong companion to many, Barbara maintained a close bond with her ex-husband, Carl Salmons, who remained a treasured part of her life.
Barbara was predeceased by her loving spouse, Ed Creamer, and her adored daughter, Katy Creamer. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Warren Echols and Ruth Echols, her sister, Diana Echols Denovchik, and her niece, Abigail Murray. Their memories will forever be woven into the fabric of Barbara's legacy, as they profoundly shaped the woman she became.
Friends and family are invited to honor and celebrate Barbara’s life during a memorial service that will be held on March 14, 2026, at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield, Texas. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, concluding at noon. It is a testament to Barbara's spirit that, even in her passing, her life serves as an inspiration to those who knew her.
