Alejandro L. Fuentes, lovingly known as Alex, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on January 7, 1946, in George West, Texas, he was an exceptional individual who made a lasting impact during his time on Earth.

Alex dedicated thirty-two years of his life to Lockheed Martin, where he excelled in his career until his well-deserved retirement. His remarkable work ethic and unwavering commitment earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Prior to his successful career at Lockheed Martin, Alex served in the United States Army from August 1966 to August 1972. His dedication to his country was admirable, and he carried the values instilled in him during his military service throughout his entire life.

Beyond his professional achievements, Alex led a rich and fulfilling life outside of work. He possessed a multitude of interests that brought him great joy. Among these cherished pastimes were traveling, camping, tending to his garden, fishing, expressing himself through the written word as a passionate writer, engaging in friendly competition at bowling alleys with friends and loved ones; and skillfully fabricating items from materials found around the house.

A visitation will be held on July 22, 2023, at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield, Texas. Friends, family, and all those whose lives he touched are invited to join the gathering from 13:00 to 15:00 to share stories, memories, and pay their final respects.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider making a donation in Alex's memory to the charity of your choice.

He is preceded in death by his paretns, Lorenzo Fuentes and Susie Lopez Fuentes; brothers, Henry, Paul and Joe; sisters, Becka and Oladia.

Alex leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by his loved ones forever. He is survived by his girlfriend, Dawnyce Thornton; daughter, Lexann Fuentes and husband, Robert Brown Jr. of Alvarado, Texas; son, Eric Fuentes and wife Sharla Fuentes, of Crowley, Texas; sisters, Rachel Ponse, Lilly Pardo, Loi Fuentes, Lucy Fuentes; five granddaughters, Shayla Schelter, Shayna Fuentes, Hunter Fuentes, Shaylee Fuentes, Rory Brown; three great-grandsons, Cason, Journey, Sterling and one great-granddaughter, Alana; former wife, Cynthia Skrobacz Fuentes; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, Chris Thornton, DeShea Wiley, David A. Thornton, Casey E. Thornton, twelve additonal grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Poncho.
